Senior Staff Attorney
Ms. Welikson is a Senior Staff Attorney at A Better Childhood. Since joining A Better Childhood in 2023, she has been involved in several child welfare class actions being litigated in federal courts across the country. Ms. Welikson has been an integral member of the team on these cases from pre-filing investigation to trial and appeal, and has helped to drive litigation and trial strategy.
Before joining A Better Childhood, Ms. Welikson practiced for a decade as a general commercial and antitrust litigator with a focus on appellate litigation. She began her career as an Associate at Cleary Gottlieb in New York. Throughout her years in the private sector, Ms. Welikson maintained a robust pro bono practice, including serving as court-appointed counsel for indigent defendants in federal appellate and capital habeas proceedings. Ms. Welikson served as a Law Clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York from 2014 to 2015 and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for The Fifth Circuit from 2016 to 2017. Prior to law school, Ms. Welikson was the Director of Research at Coleman Research Group in New York. She oversaw global research operations for Coleman, with offices in New York, London, Beijing, and Hong Kong.
Ms. Welikson graduated magna cum laude from The George Washington Law School in 2013, where she was awarded Order of the Coif and the Phi Delta Phi Award for excellence in the areas of professional responsibility, ethics, and jurisprudence. Ms. Welikson holds a B.A. in Classics from Columbia University.
