JoHN Hazelwood
Staff Attorney
Mr. Hazelwood graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2019. During law school he was a Trial Advocacy Fellow with the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and received a Certificate in Public Interest & Social Justice for his clinical work representing children with the East Bay Community Law Center. After graduation, he served as a judicial law clerk to Magistrate Judges Cheryl L. Pollak, Steven M. Gold, and James R. Cho, all in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Between 2021 and 2024, Mr. Hazelwood worked as a litigation associate representing clients on contractual and commercial matters.
Prior to law school, Mr. Hazelwood served as a representative in the Hawai'i State Teachers Union and volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster children.
In 2025, Mr. Hazelwood became a Staff Attorney at A Better Childhood.
